Photomultiplier Tube, Avalanche Photodiode & Silicon Photomultiplier Datasheets
This page provides links to manufacturers' datasheets for linear multianode photomultiplier tubes (MAPMTs), position sensitive multianode photomultiplier tubes (PS-PMTs), single anode photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), avalanche photodiode arrays (APD arrays), silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs), and multi-pixel photon counters (MPPCs).

Linear Multianode Photomultiplier Tubes (MAPMT)
Although linear multianode photomultiplier tubes (MAPMT) can be used in position sensing applications, they are more often used in spectral measurement systems where a grating placed in front of the MAPMT splits the incoming light into bands that can be individually resolved by the MAPMT. These devices find uses in a variety of applications including bioaerosol fluorescence detection, multispectral flow cytometry, confocal microscopy, laser scanning detection and angular light scattering. Linear MAPMTs are available from Hamamatsu and range from 8 elements up to 32 elements.

Position Sensitive Multianode Photomultiplier Tubes (PS-PMT)
Position sensitive photomultiplier tubes (PS-PMT) are mostly used in particle sensing applications such as nuclear particle detection systems where a scintillation crystal is placed in front of the PS-PMT. Typical applications include gamma ray imaging, positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), angular light scattering and radiation monitors. Several manufacturers like Hamamatsu, Burle, and Photonis offer two dimensional PS-PMTs in 4 element, 2 x 2 configurations up to 256 element, 16 x 16 configurations.

Single Anode Photomultiplier Tubes
Single anode PMTs are available as individual detectors or in modules that contain active circuitry such as a high voltage power supply or low noise preamplifier. The wide variety of units offered by manufacturers allows the user to trade-off between spectral response, speed, dynamic range, and power consumption. This sampling of PMTs from Hamamatsu encompasses a broad range of applications like particle detection, multispectral flow cytometry, bioaerosol fluorescence detection, and confocal microscopy.

Avalanche Photodiode Arrays
A sampling of datasheets for linear and two dimensional avalanche photodiode arrays from Hamamatsu, Pacific Silicon Sensor, PerkinElmer, and Radiation Monitoring Devices (RMD) is listed.

Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPM) & Multi-Pixel Photon Counters (MPPC)
This selection of products includes an emerging class of solid state silicon sensors that possess many of the combined benefits of PMTs and APDs with very few of the drawbacks. Some of the latest silicon photomultipliers from SensL and multi-pixel photon counters from Hamamatsu are listed.
